The Institute of Chemistry and Biotechnology is looking for a highly qualified professional from the 1st of October 2023 or by agreement as Medicinal Chemist (PostDoc) to fill an open research position at the Competence Center Drug Discovery within the Section of Organic and Medicinal Chemistry at the ZHAW for an Innosuisse-funded project targeting highly drug resistant bacteria. The position will be for 12 months with the possibility for prolongation.

School: Life Sciences und Facility Management
Starting date: October or by agreement

Your role

The highly motivated candidate will be responsible for the organic synthesis of active compounds for our drug discovery and development program. This involves Hit and Lead optimization, synthesis route development, focused libraries synthesis, synthesis of reference compounds and the development of structure activity relationships (SAR).

Your profile

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Organic/Medicinal Chemistry. This position requires a strong background in organic synthesis. Experience with common analytical techniques (NMR, LCMS, IR, UV) and chromatography purification systems are required. Experience in Molecular Modelling and in vitro Assays would be a plus.
