Sustainability Engagement Assistant 50 – 80 % (hybrid)

• Sustainable engagement of students, employees and the public through projects.
• Proactive communication and independent organization of project calls, event series and campaigns.
• Coordination and support of the Sustainable Impact Program funding platform.
• Project responsibility for deepening a common understanding of the social sustainability dimension at ZHAW and thus contributing to the further development of the ZHAW sustainability strategy.
• Maintain and expand the interface and networking with the Diversity Office and provide direct support to the Office in the area of social sustainability.
• Support the Head of Sustainability Programs and a young, dedicated and interdisciplinary small team.

• An ongoing or completed Master’s degree, ideally in fields related to Communication, Management, Social Work, Psychology, or related areas (we are open to be surprised!). Your academic background will provide a strong foundation for the work we do, fostering sustainable initiatives and community-driven programs.
• Expertise in Community Engagement and organizing public programs, projects, events, and promotional activities. Your ability to connect with diverse communities will be pivotal in promoting our sustainability endeavors.
• Your communication skills are second to none! Whether it’s crafting compelling messages, delivering persuasive presentations, or navigating social media platforms, your voice will amplify our mission in sustainability. You are fluent in English and German (or are willing to improve the latter), other national languages are welcome.
• Your passion for sustainability, especially its social dimension, will be the driving force behind your work. Your dedication to creating a better, more equitable world will inspire others to join the cause.
• As a self-starter, you possess a strong desire to make a difference. You’re not afraid to navigate through structural challenges and strategize solutions, all while tailoring your communication to suit different audiences.
• Collaboration is key in our work, and your ability to work seamlessly with diverse teams will be invaluable. Your understanding of your role and pragmatic approach will help us overcome obstacles and navigate through complexities.
• You are tech-savvy and have a natural affinity for multimedia content creation. Willingness to learn or even familiarity with software such as MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and various social media platforms will enable you to engage our audience effectively.
• You are looking forward to working between the shores of Lake Zurich and the botanical gardens of the ZHAW campus in Wädenswil. However, you are also always glad to travel to Zurich and Winterthur as needed to meet with our stakeholders. Home office is possible for 1 day per week, occasionally more upon agreement.
• You are looking forward to a growth position in a still young and growing team. The position is limited for one year with the possibility of extension. After three years there is the possibility of a permanent position.
