As part of our Water Market, you will be a key member of the delivery team responsible for the planning, designing and overseeing the construction of water supply and wastewater related projects. Your accuracy, drive for standardisation and eye for detail will assist our team to co-create an engineered impact to our clients. Your design skills and knowledge, inclusive any post grad courses (if applicable), will see you working with our team to co-create engineering solutions across Africa and the Middle East.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Civil Engineer (Hydraulics) with at least 3-5 years post graduate experience in civil engineering projects with an emphasis on Water and Sanitation Systems (design of pumps stations, bulk pipelines, treatment and reticulation). Experience on construction supervision will an advantage.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist with and undertake complex engineering, designs, calculations, and analysis of water and sanitation systems and associated infrastructure
  • Assist with and undertake the design of water and sanitation systems and associated infrastructure, which includes various buildings, pump stations, bulk pipelines, reticulation and general civil works. This will further include the civil design, hydraulic design, co-ordination and integration with other engineering disciplines (i.e., structural, mechanical and electrical), development of 3D models, technical and details drawings, technical specifications and associated quantities (bill of quantities)
  • Assist in producing other key deliverables on projects, such as technical reports, specifications, and procurement documentation
  • Site inspections and supervision including contract administration
  • Be a team player that is willing to collaborate across multiple disciplines and across multiple geographies in Africa and internationally
  • Ensure that all work complies with Zutari’s quality control procedures and ensuring that required quality standards are maintained.
Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma/BTech in Civil Engineering
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ post-graduate experience on civil engineering projects, with an emphasis on water and sanitation systems
  • Fluent in English
  • Construction related experience in civil engineering, water supply systems or dams will be an advantage
  • Sound knowledge or expertise in Civil 3D
  • Sound knowledge or expertise in Revit and Plant 3D will be an advantage
  • Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license
