About the role

In this role you would combine software development and business domain know how, and will work following agile architecture principles to contribute to implementation of high-quality applications. You have some experienced in application development, loves to analyze and tackle various technical challenges on the way, are willing to learn and grow within the software engineering domain, and are committed to be an active part of a fast-pace development team. You will work with your technical lead, with your colleagues in your agile development team, and with the business stakeholders, to implement front-to-back features for our Property & Casualty (P&C) Solutions business of Swiss Re.


Your responsibilities include:

  • Implement, maintain and extend features, components and Applications.

  • Participate in technical discussions and contribute to the Architecture & Design of the solutions.

  • Under the tech lead guidance, and in collaboration with peers, implement modern cloud solutions.

  • Keep up with technology trends and learn Cloud, backend and front-end technologies.

  • Provides hands-on troubleshooting and consulting for solution challenges when needed


Qualifications

Experience Required

  • University Degree in Computer Sciences or similar IT related fields

  • Hands on experience in software development, relevant to this position, preferably: Angular JS, Typescript, HTML 5 C# (.Net), Node.JS , Database: MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL DB

  • Knowledge of emerging technology trends

  • Knowledge of agile software engineering fundamentals

  • Strong analytical skills, and address problems in a structured way, joining your own creative ideas and those of others.

  • Strong communication (written, verbal, and presentation) skills

  • Ability to describe and document application in an easy-to-understand manner.

  • Prior experience working in Insurtech, insurance and/or product development organization a big plus

We are the InfoTech and Data Office team for Property & Casualty (P&C) Solutions business of Swiss Re. We work with Architecture team very closely in establishing the product Architecture Standards, Engineering Guidelines and its Governance. Additionally, we participate in the Strategic Technology Roadmaps which will be evolving with the emerging trends and at the same time is aligned to needs of the P&C products and our customers. We leverage cloud native, multi-tenant architecture and Swiss Re’s expansive data lake with its AI/ML & Analytical Data Models to create innovative & insightful products. We are passionate about technology and eager to learn on the go. We closely work with product management team to engineer simple yet effective solutions.
