• Assist the team in the underwriting of Property business for the Swiss market, help maintain the current book and producing new business opportunities

• Analyses and assesses Property submissions in respect of exposures and coverages. Identifies and negotiates the best position for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions including opportunities to lead programs
• Assists in developing marketing plans; identifies, analyses, and pursues growth opportunities
• Completes all underwriting processes and ensures business workflows are maintained
• Pro-actively develops and expands relationships with customers and brokers
• Underwrites the business in accordance with internal processes and guidelines
• Promotes and lives positive interaction and collaboration also with internal partners, such as customer and distribution managers, risk engineers, the operations teams as well as the claims team and other internal stakeholders and thereby works in a highly collaborative, matrix and multi-cultural environment, taking ownership and accountability to provide superior service to our customers and brokers

Main Tasks/Activities
Customer Focus

• Establishes and maintains a strategic dialogue and communicates proactively, timely and with transparency with customers and brokers
• Establishes a customer and broker network, participates in related visits/meetings and contributes to building and maintaining those relationships to ensure a steady flow of business
• Assist in the development of action plans aligning customer and broker strategic priorities with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions capabilities
• Prepares quotations, structures programs and offers proposals

Business Focus

• Helps business to grow and can prioritise submissions quickly and effectively – identifying viable opportunity
• Analyses business using existing tools combined with underwriting judgement
• Develops deep knowledge of the Swiss insurance market in respects of wordings, insurance laws, regulations, market trends and insights
• Supports the development of marketing strategies to expand position on current accounts and cross-sells other lines of business in cooperation with colleagues
• Constantly looks for other areas and segments to engage in whilst developing our offerings to make them suit the market needs and practices

Compliance and Controlling

• Ensures compliance with all Swiss Re guidelines, underwriting and pricing parameters, standard methodologies as well as Code of Conduct
• Ensures accuracy and reliability of financial reporting for assigned clients
• Ensures that relevant group, divisional and business unit goals are met on time

• University degree or equivalent

• 2 to 5 years of experience in Property underwriting of medium to large corporates including in a lead capacity
• Very good presentation and negotiation skills, customer focused approach
• Standout colleague, willing to learn the business and apply it in daily interactions
• Good numeracy skills, good PC, and software skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English, ideally complemented by French and/or Italian language skills
• Forward-thinking, trustworthy, and hardworking

• Ability to balance multiple deals in parallel without losing oversight
• Ability to optimally manage conflicts
