Job Description

Our Market Access team monitor population demographics and develop solutions to give patients access to our medicines. We act as both educators and advocates for our products, processes, and practices that help us revolutionize how our medicines create value in society.

Role

The Regional Market Access Associate Director will be responsible for a broad range of Market Access & Pricing activities in the Europe & Canada region focusing on the Oncology therapeutic area. The Associate Director, reporting to Regional Marker access and pricing Director will plan for and develop MA strategies, value demonstration and various reimbursement tools. Together with the rest of the EUCAN MA team she/he will work closely with the Regional and Global cross-functional teams (e.g. MA, Medical, Commercial, regulatory, CORE, etc). The role will be based in Kriens (Lucerne) and will require some travel.

The role includes, but is not limited to, the following Key responsibilities
  • To lead the development of regional access strategies and the creation of supportive materials in close collaboration with the Regional Director of Market Access and cross functional (Commercial, Medical, Policy, CORE and Regulatory) team
  • The Associate Director will work closely with affiliates to ensure that access for the Oncology therapeutic indication/portfolio is secured in the EUCAN region
  • To represent the EUCAN access perspective and highlights Market Access considerations for oncology assets to the Cross-functional Regional and Global team
  • To provide early input into Clinical Development program with aim to support meeting payer requirements at time of launch of a new product and/or indication
  • To work with cross-functional business partners to develop and support product value proposition to optimize access, reimbursement, and uptake throughout the lifecycle of Oncology products
  • Continuously to monitor and to assess the external market access and therapeutic environment
  • To oversee primary and secondary research with payers within the region to answer specific questions needed to refine local access strategies
Qualifications

Ideally, the successful candidate should have

Education
  • A Master of Science or advanced degree in Economics, Health Economics, Business, Medicine, Pharmacy, or another relevant topic
Languages
  • English and preferably one major market language
Experience/Professional Requirements
  • Relevant experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry in similar positions (minimum of 3 years) preferable with regional experience
  • Robust experience from market access and/or health economics in the area of oncology (ideally on a multi-indication product)
  • Solid understanding of European Market Access landscape, including various national reimbursement processes and payer’s requirements
  • Ability to understand and clearly communicate scientific/pharmaceutical information
  • An analytical mindset with strong interpersonal skills, including proficient written and oral communication competences
  • Robust teamwork ethics and network capability
  • An ability to not only synthesize and interpret data, but translate into compelling and clear access strategies and plans
  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and ability to identify payer trends and impact
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment and to deliver on time
  • Solid appreciation for cultural diversity
