For our client, an international company in Basel we are looking for a

Lab Technician, Genetics & Genomics service

Start date: asap (latest March 2022)
End: 31.12.2022
Extension: On request and showed performance
Workplace: Basel
Workload: 100%
Remote/Home Office: Lab-based position, some home office possible (around 20%), covid certificate needed.

Tasks & Responsibilities

The execution of standard next-generation sequencing applications (eg. RNAseq)
Scientific and technical contribution to experimental design
Set up and maintenance of lab equipment and infrastructure, ensure compliance with local requirements
Fit for purpose sample storage and handling of DNA and RNA samples during analysis.
Correct assay documentation and FAIR data generation.
Performing assigned tasks independently, on time and within forecasted budget
Showing flexibility in developing skills in needed subject areas, technologies or approaches and applying them in projects to support the needs of pRED
Showing flexibility in working with other groups
Training of other technicians and/or students.

Must Haves

Associate Degree or Bachelor in Science in a relevant biological discipline
Proven track record of experience in Next Generation Sequencing (in all phases)
Hands on proven experience with RNA sample (DNA/RNA Extraction, library generation & sequencing)
Min 2/3 year in relevant similar experience
Strong molecular biology laboratory skills
Experience in sequencing data QC
Problem-solving and organizational skills are highly desirable.
Familiarity with databases, tools, and resources commonly used in interpretation of genomic data is plus.
Fluency in spoken English and good communication and presentation skills are required
Quality and customer oriented mindset
High spirit of collaboration and ability to work in a highly self-managed manner in an agile matrix team with sense of urgency and ability to deal with complex situations.
