Lead Scientist Position:product and process development (PhD level, 100%)

Redbiotec based in the Zürich area is seeking for a scientist to lead the process development for pDNA manufacturing.

Your role: Working as a key scientist in product and process development you will work closely with the microbial engineering team to identify and develop new processes for pDNA manufacturing. In addition, you will implement process controls to ensure the pDNA is of high quality and adequate to the various applications, such as gene therapy and mRNA production. In your role you will develop and structure plans for internal and external projects with Redbiotec partners such as pharma and biotech companies as well as CDMOs, and ensure successful execution of these projects. You will report directly to the management of the company.

For this, experience with pDNA and mRNA manufacturing, process development and analytical tools for products such as DNA and RNA is required. Experience with cell free systems is a plus. The ideal candidate also has knowledge about novel screening and readout technologies as well as experience in large-scale data handling and high-throughput methods. Your qualifications:

- PhD or equivalent experience in Biotechnology, Microbiology or similar

- Several years of industry experience

- Proven project management skills

- Proven experience in processes development

- Experience with pDNA manufacturing

- Experience with manufacturing of mRNA and/or protein production is an advantage

- Strong team, communication and interpersonal skills required

- Entrepreneurial spirit

- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
