Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Consumer Health business to create a new publicly traded company. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions and approvals.  

It is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, this position may be conveyed with New Consumer Health. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to the successful candidate by New Consumer Health at an appropriate time and would be subject to any necessary consultation processes. 

MAKE Automation, Sciences & Technology (MAKE AS&T) is the Global MAKE functional pillar of the J&J Consumer Health Global Value Chain (GVC) Organization. It is the technical and operational excellence backbone of the Consumer Health Supply Chain providing Technical Ownership and Executional Excellence, improving the synergy of product, process and equipment.

Digital Transformation is a critical component of the Consumer Health strategy to become a digital first company. Consumer Health is investing significantly to align its manufacturing technology strategy and its global manufacturing strategy, focusing on data, digital and automation to bring Consumer Heath Supply Chain’s manufacturing capabilities to the next level.

The MAKE Data, Insights & Automation EMEA leader will leverage latest cutting-edge technology to continuously enable effective automation of our manufacturing processes and build and maintain a comprehensive and detailed roadmap of capabilities to improve our supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
  • Support the region in the definition of the manufacturing strategy for data, digital and automation, formulate a detailed roadmap of capabilities and identification of the most appropriate technologies
  • Support the region in the identification of key data, digital and automation investments short, medium and long term required to enable the regional strategy for digital and automation
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the regional digital supply chain strategy
  • Contribute to the global manufacturing data, digital and automation strategy

Programs and Projects

In the context of our Smart Factory and Smart Operations transformation, lead regionally projects and coordinate cross functional teams to drive business and organizational results in matrix organization

Automation

In Collaboration With The Competence Center For Automation
  • Govern processes and solutions standards in automation, test new technologies and drive the scale up process
  • Enhance capabilities of the internal automation teams and increase capacity establishing a flexible pool with external vendors, coordinate automation community across regions
  • OT data and integration strategy with assets and IT systems and architecture
  • Strong collaboration with site automation leaders and engineers’ teams

Education

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering at a minimum.

Experience And Skills

Required Years of Related Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of business experience with at least 5 years of Supply Chain, Finance, IT or relevant functional experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Possesses excellent communication, motivation, team building, employee involvement, diplomacy, delegating skills, as well as confidence and enthusiasm
  • Strategic planning and big thinking. Agile and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Proven track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment
  • Experience in global consultancy and corporate environment managing and coordinating large teams in matrix organization
  • Ability to collaborate within and across companies, cultures, functions, and geographies to lead change and action
  • Strong experience in automation and engineering, definition and maintenance of automation and integration standards in a global complex and regulated manufacturing environment
  • Experience in leading Smart Manufacturing/Industry 4.0 transformations on a global/regional scale
  • Experience in Sensor & IIoT, advanced robotics, smart vision systems, intelligent automation, process modeling and simulations
  • Experience in how to best apply the latest digital technologies to advance a Manufacturing sites and overall the E2E Supply Chain
  • Strong process background. Ability to support the definition and optimization of a variety of processes within a manufacturing sites (asset management, material handling and warehouse automation, production scheduling, site performance monitoring, integration with quality and laboratories, others)
  • Experience in implementing and governing Manufacturing Execution systems
  • Good understanding of data management/governance/stewardship concepts

Preferred

Experience working in a consumer goods or pharmaceutical supply chain environment is preferred
  • Prior experience leading digital transformation and driving capability maturity across enterprises is preferred.
  • Experience across the entire supply chain (source, plan, deliver) is preferred
