Manager Actuals & Reporting (m/f/d)

Role Purpose:

The Manager of Actuals & Reporting provides financial reporting and analysis to the global Consumer Health Senior Management and Bayer Group in compliance with division and the Bayer Group reporting requirements, policies, procedures and business needs. This position will also act as a partner towards the Financial Business Partners of Commercial Organizations and Global Functions to support and align on the generation of financial analysis and to provide provoking business insights to internal stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Monthly and quarterly business analysis, identification of negative business developments and potential opportunities; commentary on this information including the development of action plans for the Consumer Health Executive Committee
  • Further develop reporting that increases transparency and drives provoking insight for current business results; proactively address focus topics for further analysis and challenge business performance where appropriate
  • Identify adverse developments as well as business opportunities by analyzing key performance indicators & financial data, provide early warning as well as mitigation recommendations
  • Own and enhance an effective reporting dashboard of key metrics for Consumer Health; bring transparency to the available data, incorporate various external data sources into financial analytics in alignment with different stakeholders
  • Support the derivation of growth and profitability targets for the Division and its regions/countries; identification of relevant success factors, comparison with the parameters stipulated in strategic and operative planning, and development of recommendations for senior management
  • Prepare external reporting for annual and quarterly results in close alignment with Investor Relations and Accounting; create quarterly investor briefings for senior management
  • Improve CH controlling processes, re-focus the scope of business-management analysis; establish an extensive knowledge base for business processes and best practices relevant to business
  • Train colleagues throughout the Finance community in best practices for business analytics; maintain network with regions and functions. Educate users to utilize the reporting systems. Influence future direction of current systems based on financial users’ needs and requirements, with particular focus on automation, digitalization and harmonization
Role Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Finance, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience; MBA degree preferred
  • Pro-active working style driving results and demonstrated success in the area of courage / resolution
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and judgment
  • Solid financial and controlling experience, with 7 years in Finance/Accounting positions, preferably with HealthCare / FMCG industry background
  • Profound finance know-how (Reporting, Budgeting, Forecasting, Target Setting), digital tools and system landscape
  • Knowledge in Deviation Analysis, FX Simulation and Cash Flow management
  • Solid understanding of commercial processes, in particular sales forecasting, brand management, market dynamics & commercial KPI systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, different stakeholders, functions and regions/countries and cultures in a very international environment
  • Communicate effectively in English. Additional language is a plus
