JOB AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Join PMI’s Investment Team as Investment Manager and manage from A-Z corporate development projects (M&A and corporate venture capital) in our four key focus areas: Reduced Risk Products -inhalable & Oral, Health and wellness, impact investing

• Deal Sourcing: Build & expand your network with senior bankers and industry key opinion leaders to source opportunities and to develop a profound understanding of deals and discussions in market related to our key focus areas.
• Pre-Deal & Screening: Scrutinize investment ideas discussed in the team and build tailored deal structure. Develop an internal network to validate your own investment ideas & structure with our own subject matter experts, and excel in presenting investment proposals towards internal stakeholders & decision makers/Investment Committee.
• Due Diligence: Lead, inform, scrutinize and coordinate due diligence processes from start to finish.
• Negotiation: Negotiate terms and oversee documentation of deal terms in close collaboration with our legal team.
• Post-Deal: Provide inputs on key topics to our own portfolio management team and also to internal partners from other departments. Set joint goals, milestones, and then monitor the overall development of the company. Support development & execution of 100day plan.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential Requirements:
o Strong track record of successfully-led venture capital/private equity/M&A transactions
o Previous exposure to engineering or life science organizations and deals
o Analytical mindset to quickly understand & estimate upsides/risks of new technologies
o Ability to suggest alternative investment structures or partnership models
o Ability to simplify, summarize and communicate complex information and data
o Ability to develop investment hypotheses based on deep understanding of PMI’s business
o Ability to lead and develop talents

Preferred Requirements:
o Ability to tap into network of investors, financial service firms to further inform origination of opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Essential Requirements:
o Financial modelling skills to quantify & project economic scenarios
o 10 years professional experience, at least 3 of which in an investment firm/private equity/venture capital outfit
o Strong academic track record, science or technology degree and/or MBA
o Proven project-management skills and/or experience in corporate strategy projects
