This role is often referred to as the mini-CEO of a digital product. Productowners clearly define the vision of a product or service, are fully empowered to make decisions that deliver high business value, and are laser focused on KPIs to track progress. The product owners work directly with developers, engineers, experience designers, and other stakeholders in the business on a daily basis. They need to understand technology and user-experience issues in order tomake the right tradeoffs in deciding on the product or service features to develop.

Qualifications

Required skills / experience
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering at a minimum.
  • Specialization in data science, computer science, data engineering or advanced analytics fields is strongly preferred.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA), master’s degree in data science and/or PhD is also strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of business experience with at least 5 years of Supply Chain, Finance, IT, or relevant functional experience required.
  • Must be well-versed in analyzing data, segmenting, rationalizing, defining, tracing lineage, developing controls, tracking issues, influencing ownership, as well as ensuring it is fit-for-purpose and ready for usage.
  • Experience with data modeling and data analysis techniques.
  • Experience defining data management strategy and associated operational standards (e.g., Data Lifecycle Management, Data Quality standards).
  • Subject matter expertise in Supply Chain data (e.g., Material Master, Product Master), operational and transactional ERP data, IOT, M2M, IIOT, and other data.
  • Experience leading large, cross-functional projects or programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand business and technical functions, process information quickly, and assess impacts to data elements.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management, influencing, and collaboration skills.
  • Thought leadership with an agile mindset experienced in shaping solutions.
  • Must be comfortable with constructively challenging the status quo and looking for new ways to improve processes and results.

Preferred Skills / Experience
  • Prior experience leading digital transformation and driving capability maturity across enterprises is preferred.
  • Experience in working with Microsoft Azure stack preferred.
  • Experience with material / product management, PLM, other relevant processes / systems is preferred.
  • Experience with acquisitions and divestitures is a plus.
  • Familiarity with financial statements and methodologies (P&L, Balance Sheet, COGs, GP, ROI, NPV, IRR) is a plus.
