Firstly is in client development and engagements. You will develop private sector client activity in full consistency with the objectives defined annually by the board, interacting closely with the relevant partner group across the region and beyond, supporting the teams during the engagements and contributing to the development of the consultants as well as to the actual content of the projects. Orphoz directors are the leaders across their projects, and will spend time supporting teams, ensuring coaching of consultants and providing context.

The second key area is strategy and links with other McKinsey teams. You will ensure the link with the McKinsey Implementation leaders, sector leaders and local client committee, building the strategic plan and budget. You will also support other Orphoz entities in their set-up and development.

The third area is people development and office management. You will build up the team through recruitment to meet the internal growth targets. You will train individuals to ensure a consistent approach across the team, and developing a positive and proactive team culture and lead the evaluation and the development of consultants, managing promotions and framing people development processes (training, coaching) while coordinating support functions and ensuring their development and leading the daily management of the capability (administration, finance, recruiting, offices, etc.)

The fourth key area is economics - where you will ensure the success of the entity and reaching the economic targets defined by McKinsey.

Who You’ll Work With

You will be based in Genève or Zurich, working in closely with our McKinsey client team leaders and their clients. You’ll also partner with our growing Orphoz teams across Europe.

You will work with Orphoz, a professional services firm fully owned by McKinsey and Company, that helps leading private-sector organizations execute transformation programs in a time of accelerated change. We turn strategy into practice, with a focus on transforming and upgrading operational models using agile, efficient, and highly engaging methods that work on the ground rather than just looking good on paper.

Our work is broad, encompassing topics such as operational excellence, lean management (manufacturing, service, or IT), supply-chain management, digital transformation, purchasing, shared-service-centre implementation and wider process improvement.

Orphoz integrates the skills, the approach, the corporate culture, and the resources that lead to the success of complex and challenging transformation projects and is ideally positioned to smoothly implement strategies designed by McKinsey & Company.
