About the Role
In Group ORM & Risk Governance we implement and maintain the Groupwide operational risk framework that ensures that we reduce the risk of major operational incidents impacting the organisation. In this role, you will support the digitisation and automation of operational risk management across Swiss Re, which in turn will lower our operational risk exposure!
As a member of the program management team, supporting the long-term initiative to drive automation and continuous monitoring of Swiss Re’s internal controls’, while supporting the project implementation teams
Directly support the initiative lead with the continuous identification of opportunities, scoping, prioritisation, planning, and implementation of the strategy
Further support with risk, issue and action resolutions, budgeting, and reporting, including management of resources (time, headcount, money, facilities, equipment, material, information technology and external consultants where utilized)
Take ownership and independently support the business project team(s) with the planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of each phase, while providing guidance and support based on the methodology and experience
Provide business partners with advice regarding key risks that they face. Support them in the context of reviewing business processes and through data analysis, elaborating options for control design, including simplification and automation
Support the development, improvement, and communication of the initiative related materials and co-develop and provide trainings to risk managers and business partners on risk management related topics such as control automation
Coordination with Group ORM colleagues to:
Assess impact of potential changes on ORM methodology and infrastructure and to collaborate to craft viable solutions
Support the alignment of business and ORM data architectures as well as creation of data pools where operational risk insights can be accessed in real time
About the Team
The Group Qualitative Risk Management (GQRM) department is embedded within Risk Management. We reduce operational risk at Swiss Re through the implementation and maintenance of the Groupwide operational risk management framework. The key elements of our directive are to:

Provide framework, methodology, tools and education
Promote and reinforce good risk-taking behaviours
About You
Required education/skills/experience:
5-7 years’ experience within financial services industry with preference for internal or external audit, quality assurance over internal control or operational risk background
Knowledge of IT application controls (automated controls)
Understanding of enterprise risk management concepts, knowledge of core (re)insurance processes is a strong advantage
Exposure to process design / optimization, data governance/modelling, definition of Key Risk Indicators or tolerance limits
Experience with program or project management, including detailed content level
Ability to run multiple topics simultaneously and switch from detailed analytics to "big picture", from individual contributor to workstream lead
Tech savvy, able to use existing and emerging technologies, including Office automation, robotics and/or artificial intelligence, to increase process efficiency and extract insights from data
Open and honest communication skills, convincing and persuasive personality, can build and maintain professional networks across multiple departments
Pragmatic and flexible, solution and team oriented
Pro-actively shares knowledge and experience, comfortable to challenging senior audiences
Proficiency in English (speaking and writing)
