We are seekinga highly experienced and dedicated individual, acting as a central point of contact between users, staff and the cantonal animal veterinary office regarding requirements for compliance with the animal experimentation ordinance and data management, safety and daily operations of the animal facility. In this setting, an experimental animal science person with an engaged, customer oriented service attitude and the ability to respond to daily challenges within a dynamic work environment will thrive.
Job description
You will collaborate with the senior staff and researchers on the establishment of new technologies and processes e.g. in mouse analysis, including continuous improvement with the view of ensuring the highest quality of service. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to; allocating experimental resources, revising and creating standard operating procedures (SOP), the procurement of materials, import / export of research animals and materials in close collaboration with the veterinarians, the creation and administration of GMO data sheets / Form M, and providing support to the managing director of ETH Phenomics Center as required.
Your profile
You have a Master/PhD degree in life sciences, with a minimum of 3 years of work experience with laboratory animals within a research group / animal facility. Demonstrated experience as animal experiment study director and/or administration of mouse lines according to the animal experimentation ordinance is highly preferred. You will support a culture of engagement with the goals of the research groups, understand and negotiate experimental programs work and be of a proactive and goal-oriented personality. You can show a clear understanding of basic research needs and is committed to providing high-level support services to a multidisciplinary user community. Excellent communication skills in English and German, and the capability to work both independently and in a team are required. The position is available immediately.
