Your team

Pictet Wealth Management combines more than 200 years of Swiss banking heritage with global investment expertise. The Partner-owned financial services group offers a comprehensive service for wealthy individuals and families, including discretionary and advisory investment solutions and family office services.

As part of the Pictet Investment Office (PIO) of its Pictet Wealth Management Division in Geneva, you will manage discretionary portfolios investing directly in credit in accordance with management mandates given to PIO. You will also provide assistance. Another of your duties will be to evaluate portfolio positioning and develop proprietary tools to facilitate investment decision and implementation.

You will bring your own investment expertise and credit analysis to the specific markets that we invest in (including high yield, special situations, private debt, asset-backed securities, etc.).

The PIO team is responsible for non-traditional investments for a stable client base.

Your role
  • Taking part in investment decision-making as well as managing and monitoring credit portfolios (monitoring positions in real time, placing orders, cash and liquidity management, corporate actions, reporting).
  • Maintaining detailed financial models and investment cases for each investment covered by you.
  • Attending company meetings to engage directly with issuers and management teams of your coverage universe.
  • Analysing and evaluating credit documentation, sometimes related to special situations or distressed debt, then issuing investment recommendations and monitoring their performance.
  • Developing profitable investment cases autonomously, with a focus on high-yield credit opportunities.
  • Helping with the implementation of investments into the separately managed accounts (SMAs) while at the same time keeping track of the unique objectives and constraints of each specific account.
  • Issuing investment recommendations and updating them regularly to ensure that the investment case remains valid.
  • Taking part in marketing efforts and assisting with the production of client presentations and reporting.
  • Providing assistance with producing reporting statements and developing the PIO investment strategies.
  • Helping the broader PIO Investment Team with investment analysis and discussing ideas from a credit perspective.

Your profile
  • Master’s degree in Finance from a top academic institution and CFA (or equivalent).
  • A minimum of fifteen years’ relevant investment experience in the fixed income/credit space.
  • Strong bottom-up credit background with an emphasis on high-yield and leveraged credit markets.
  • Significant experience in the following areas would be a plus: European high-yield, leveraged loans, subordinated financial debt, private debt, distressed debt, special situations investing and/or structured credit.
  • Ability to work with other teams on the Investment Platform to ensure optimal information exchange.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player who is capable of multi-tasking without stress.
  • An enquiring mind and with an ability to think independently without being overly influenced by external factors.
  • Highly organised and able to stay on task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Skilled at interacting effectively with staff at different hierarchical levels, in different positions and from different cultural backgrounds, with an ability to adapt how you communicate in different situations and depending on who you are speaking with.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications, Excel macros and Bloomberg financial software.
  • Capable of building lasting relationships based on trust with clients and colleagues.
  • First-rate command of English and excellent knowledge of French.
  • The successful candidate will be required to reside in Switzerland.
