Our Laboratory for Advanced Fibers in St. Gallen pursues materials research in the field of polymers and fibers. We work towards the realization of a continuous catalytic spinning process, where the polymer is directly synthesized into fiber shape at negligible chain branching.

Your tasks

  • Development of a novel reactor/spinning technology for making high-performance polyolefin fibers
  • Acquisition of research grants and writing of scientific publications
  • Supervision of students and interns
  • Collaboration with chemists, engineers and fiber technologists
Your profile

  • PhD in chemical and/or polymer engineering
  • Hands-on experience in high-pressure reactors
  • Knowledge of catalytic polymerization
  • Interest to bridge science and application
  • Experience in writing scientific manuscripts
  • Fluency in English, further knowledge of German is a plus
