Lead pricing initiatives for the assigned region (e.g., US, EU, EMEACLA, JAPAC) and support the organization with high quality analyses into market conditions. Provide support by processing data and collecting new data to support LT and marketing team.Key Responsibilities:
  • Pricing Strategy: determine optimal pricing structure to achieve business goals through deep analysis, discussions with various stakeholders, organizing and moderating wargaming exercises. Model scenarios based on input from stakeholders, using independent judgement to weigh different inputs and likely outcomes. Effectively communicate options and strategies to all levels of the organization. Investigate and make recommendations on non-standard pricing strategies including outcomes-based pricing contracts. Recognize when external data is required and make recommendations for how to obtain.
  • Pricing Management: collaborate with sales management to prepare deal options acceptable to customers and consistent with Edwards pricing strategy. Lead pricing committee to review customer deals weighing price and volume tradeoffs and contributing to the optimization of customer offers. Conduct country pricing reviews to determine contracting structure and monitor execution with country teams. Utilize deal tracking tools to ensure capture of deal metrics; perform regular follow-up monitoring of deals to ensure compliance. Propose changes to pricing strategy based on insights gained from monitoring.
  • Tenders: maintain and develop the Edwards THV value story documentation and tender attribute responses and proposals through close collaboration with the marketing team. Help guide internal and external stakeholders on the use of value-based procurement principles to ensure total cost of procedure is taken into account when responding to tenders. Monitor use of value proposition materials in responding to tenders; update materials according to assessment of usefulness and changing conditions. Monitor tender activity including tender announcements. Collaborate with bids and tenders function to ensure timely tender execution.
  • Competitive Intelligence: collaborate closely with team members to ensure up to date collection and organization of pricing intelligence. Monitor competitive products to understand features and benefits and latest clinical outcomes to allow for effective communication of opportunities or threats based on the external environment. Conduct market research to understand Edwards value proposition versus competitive products
Education and Experience:Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in in related field5 years experience required in related pricing, business strategy and/or financial planningAdditional Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience working with a range of professionals to help navigate through complex situations
  • Experience in Market Analysis, Modeling/ Forecasting preferred
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment
  • Proven expertise in both Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel
  • Business Intelligence software (Tableau) experience preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
  • Fluent in English required
  • Extensive knowledge of own area within the organization while contributing to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards
  • Extensive understanding and interpretation of pricing strategy
  • Extensive understanding of related aspects of processes and/or systems
  • Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate value to the business
  • Ability to listen to stakeholders, discover unmet needs, develop strong rapport with audience, and be customer-focused.

  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization
