Pictet Alternative Advisors(PAA)is a leading alternative investment specialist with expertise in hedge funds, private equity and global real estate. The Geneva- and London-based team constructs, manages and advises on portfolios of alternative investment solutions for institutional and private clients.

You will be joining a dynamic and growing investment team, organised by themes (Technology, Healthcare, Environment), and will support the global efforts to identify, analyse and recommend investments in the environment sector, both through funds and direct co-investments.

As part of the Pictet’s objective to grow its environment investment practice, we are looking for a team member with strong investment experience, knowledge, and interest in the fields of energy transition, natural resources management, circular economy, sustainable consumption, and their enabling technologies. The role will include the following:

Your role
  • Strategy
  • Participate in defining the strategy within the environment investment initiative to build up a portfolio of funds and co-investments
  • Build up and manage a global network of entrepreneurs, syndication partners, banks, M&A advisors, and intermediaries
  • Identify industry trends and perform research to build convictions by sub-sector
  • Investment
  • Source, identify and analyse Venture Capital and Private Equity funds, secondary transactions, and direct co-investment opportunities
  • Present and defend recommendations in front of the investment committee
  • Monitor investments, support client reporting with financial and impact related Key Performance Indicators
  • Team development
  • Active participation in the development of the Thematic Private Equity environment investment team
  • Interact with PAA Private Equity stakeholders including bankers, customer relationship managers, and clients

Your profile
  • Advanced university degree in an Engineering or Finance field (Master, PhD, MBA)
  • Proven active network among related venture capital funds. Five to ten year of relevant experience investing in the venture capital/ private equity industry (direct or indirect investments), supported by a personal track record
  • Operational leadership would be an asset.
  • Perfect command of English required. An ability to hold professional conversations in French and/or other European languages would be highly valued
  • A natural ability to build a rapport with different sets of individuals and to positively challenge the opinions of others
  • Location is flexible : London or Zurich (with a commitment of weekly travels to Geneva) or Geneva (must be resident in Switzerland or willing to relocate)

As the chosen candidate, you will be conscientious and open-minded, have good analytical and deductive skills and be a team player. You will be able to work both independently and as part of a team as well as being highly motivated. You will also be looking to join a team where the experience you have acquired, and your keen sense of discretion and ethics will be greatly valued.
