We are looking for a new Procurement Manager – Metals (M/F/D) to independently source raw materials on a global level, manage the supply market in your area of responsibility, closely and pro-actively interact with the businesses and other stakeholders, manage key suppliers, leads procurement projects for the category and actively participates in the performance management of the category.



Responsibilities

  • You will be primarily focused on developing and executing global sourcing strategies and driving procurement projects in close collaboration with your key stakeholders and lead the category strategy process
  • Responsibility for developing, influencing, maintaining supplier relationships and Key Supplier program elements including supplier assessments and supplier development
  • You will lead negotiations with suppliers and ultimately reaching agreements on contracts
  • You will actively conduct market research, optimizing our supplier base, and identify alternative raw materials
  • By continuously monitoring market development you will be able to forecasts prices of strategic products. With this data, you will compile monthly reports for the business and direct potential changes.
  • You will take ownership for creating & maintaining contract master data
  • You will oversee and participate in cross-functional teams taking part in International Lean Sigma and agile projects, continuously improving procurement processes and implementing new digital solutions for procurement
  • You will encourage the uptake of best practices within the department and across Clariant
  • Maintaining and strengthening effective lines of communication with your stakeholders will be key to your long-term success.
  • Through close interaction with the Business (Business Management and Operations), you will help determine future raw materials needs and create adaptive strategies to meet those needs.
  • You will lend your expertise to innovation projects and new business development activities.
  • Our corporate sustainability program is very important to us and you will drive initiatives within procurement to reduce Clariant’s Greenhouse Gas Emissions and to foster the development of sustainable supply chains

Requirements

  • A technical education within the chemical or processing industries combined with a degree in Business Administration or Procurement (or similar)
  • Multiple years of experience in a global business environment
  • Proficient in SAP, e-Procurement Tools, and MS Office, digital affinity
  • Excellent communication skills fluent in English with other languages beneficial
  • Proven experience in project management; e.g. as Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or similar.
  • An innate hunger for improvement both personal and departmental
  • Negotiation skills in highly technical environments
