About the Role


We are looking for a Product Owner to join us in our Group Finance IT team and lead all aspects of the reporting and analytical requirements of Swiss Re’s business unit finance. We are renewing the Group Finance system landscape with the latest cloud-based technologies. We work in a scaled agile model with a shared leadership team and broad aligned autonomy for our squads. The role includes the following responsibilities:


  • Develop a product vision. Partner with internal customers to understand their data insights & analytics needs, find new ways of addressing these needs and integrate them into the product backlog.

  • Engaging the business via prototyping and jointly exploring the opportunities provided by new technologies

  • Work closely with internal and external data engineers, BI developers and analysts in the squad to design and deliver product improvements in line with our architecture principles

  • Prioritise work items from the backlog, set the sprint goals and participate in agile events.

  • Define outcome-based metrics (OKRs) and measure the value built.

  • Co-lead the squad together with the Scrum Master and Chapter Lead and foster an agile mentality.

  • Improve data quality, automation and industrialisation of reporting processes


About You


  • A university degree in IT, Business Administration or equivalent qualification.

  • Good understanding of Financial reporting processes

  • Attitude to simplify, automate and drive innovative approaches

  • Several years of practical experience with data services including SQL, ETL tools, data mart design, integration services like Azure Data Factory and visualisation tools like Power BI.

  • Enjoy working with large sets of data and consult internal customers to find fit for purpose BI solutions

  • Detailed real-world experience with Scrum or similar agile methodologies. A Scrum Product Owner certification is a plus.

  • A passion for delighting your customers.

  • Outstanding communication skills and emotional intelligence.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • A passion to lead people in your squad with your interpersonal skills, through listening, inspiring, encouraging as well as giving/receiving feedback.

  • English language proficiency, with optional German skills.
