About the Role


As the Product Owner, you will work closely with the development squad and user representatives as well as the other product owners within the Re/Insurance Accounting Product Area. Your product backlog will include the integration of various financial closing parameters and data interfaced from different sources into our central event store. You will be at the forefront of product development and support, including :


  • Co-create, prioritize and communicate product roadmaps and high-level squad backlogs using iterative techniques with feedback loops

  • Bring transparency of the backlog and align squad members with all partners

  • Ensure that user requirements are understood and focused on by the team

  • Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on

  • Ensure cooperation between squads and manage interdependencies

  • Support the squad to clear scope, with clear guidance on timelines with clear acceptance criteria

  • Provide a leading role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals

  • Work closely with product management to create and maintain a product backlog according to the initiatives and goals of the product area.


About the Transformation Program OLYMPUS


The OLYPMUS project is a Finance Transformation program where we not only want to introduce new cloud-based applications and infrastructure but also move to an agile way of working. One of our core applications is the sub-ledger for preparing and reporting multi-valuation financial statements (IFRS and many other local valuations) for our assets and liabilities. This is a completely new product that we have developed in a co-innovation project with SAPFioneer (FPSL) and is also being rolled out to many of our competitors in the insurance industry. We are located around the globe, but we share the same values of passion, openness, respect, humility and curiosity in our team. And our common goal is to improve our work for our clients every day.


About you


You are a self-starter with a keen interest in new technology and motivated, energetic and enthusiastic about using technology to address business challenges. You are data driven and very tech savvy having experience of agile working practices and understanding of the user journey. Do you feel comfortable with our requirement criteria?


  • University degree in IT, finance or economics.

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in IT projects with technical or business analyst background at Swiss Re or other major players in the re/insurance/financial services industry.

  • Experience in ERP implementation, systems integration, business process automation and business process modelling.

  • Trusted partner who encourages multi-functional and cross-organizational collaboration and proactive engagement with clients and colleagues

  • Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skill

  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles

  • Ability to work well under stress

  • Ability to analyze and solve complex business and IT related problems
