Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products, is renowned worldwide as a specialist for power transmission and distribution. Our unit Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS), based in Zürich-Oerlikon, is active in the development and production of gas insulated switching systems. We ensure the high reliability of our systems by using state-of-the-art development tools and methods. For our business unit High Voltage Products we are looking for a Project Manager in Secondary Engineering. In this challenging position you will take over the technical project management for the secondary engineering of gas-insulated high-voltage switchgear. You will work closely with the the project team in Switzerland and lead your engineering team in India. Together you will ensure successful project execution. You will also support sales and development in close cooperation with our international customers and suppliers.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead the Secondary Engineering projects and lead the project team
  • Ensure that control cabinets meet customer requirements and that our solutions meet market needs and are competitive
  • Create engineering work packages and ensure schedule, quality and cost are met
  • Support purchasing in the evaluation of subcontractors and development for new products
  • Coordinate fabrication of control cabinets
  • Assist commissioning with questions and open issues
  • Identify up-sell potential and additional sales
  • Sales support during the quotation phase
  • Customer visits for specification analysis (occasional travel)

Your background

  • Electrical engineering training, further training as a technician an advantage or bachelor’s degree
  • First professional experience in a comparable position with project experience in an international environment
  • Experience in the engineering of control cabinets and knowledge of the common electrical components used in control cabinet construction
  • Reading, understanding and optimizing electrical circuits
  • Fluent German and English
  • Communicative and assertive personality with good organizational skills
