The Category Lead Buyer is responsible for developing procurement strategies for the acquisition of raw materials on behalf of the ADM Animal Nutrition plants around the world. This position reports to the Global Category Director Animal Nutrition and Petfood.
Your Responsibilities
  • Analyzing the markets for the products you are responsible for
  • Support defining the procurement strategies for the category
  • Analyzing requirements of ADM Animal Nutrition plants worldwide
  • Supporting and contributing to financial targets achievement through purchase activities (active negotiation on prices, payment terms, Incoterms and other terms) for selected raw materials with suppliers
  • Preparation of contracts
  • Closely coordinate and collaborate with the country purchasing teams on the acquisition of key raw materials and allocate the contracted volumes required by each ADM Animal Nutrition plant
  • Establish, build, and sustain good working relationships with all key suppliers
  • Lead savings and synergies initiatives in collaboration with corporate group
  • Supporting compliance with ADM policies
  • Collaborating with formulation, quality, and regulatory teams to source new and alternative raw materials
  • Reviewing and resolving any discrepancies with supplier invoices, grievances, claims, conflicts, product non-conformance or quality issues
Your Profile
Bachelor/Master’s Degree in business studies or similar
8-10 years of experience in procurement/trading of animal feed ingredients for a large corporation
Ability to work independently, self-motivating and taking initiative
Fluency in English is required
You are enthusiastic about food, healthy nutrition, and food trends
You feel comfortable in a dynamic, international environment and are open to change
You are a committed and customer-oriented team player for whom a proactive, goal-oriented way of working is a matter of course
You enjoy analytical-conceptual but also creative work
