Data Manager & Analyst

We are looking for a Data Manager & Analyst Consultant for one of our clients, a health-centered organization.

Main responsibilities of the position:

• Data Management
• Knowledge dissemination and communication strategy
• Reporting
• Provision of strategic analyses to inform strategies, policies and programmes in order to strengthen delivery of results.
• MPM data analysis which includes monitoring and validating quantitative and qualitative data, reporting on current and historical trends;
• Providing country level data analyses, to support country team discussions and assisting all stakeholders such as Directors
• Producing data analytics for several departments, enabling data driven decisions and equipping all stakeholders with data facts;
• Provide ad-hoc reports on performance of country portfolio for use by Country teams and management;
• Support colleagues working in country programmes by providing them with timely and understandable data insights, through listening to and understanding their questions or needs, identifying potential data sources, and designing, conducting and interpreting new data analyses.
• Develop and manage statistical programming code to ensure accurate, timely, reproducible, and transparent analyses to inform corporate and country-level monitoring and decision making, including automation of certain analyses.
• Contribute to the maintenance of country programmes data bases collaborating with KMTS.

• University degree in public health, statistics, economics, business administration or other relevant discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience with data analysis and interpretation;
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both internally and externally;
• Written and spoken fluency in English required; French is desirable

Skills/competencies

• Strong R programming skills, particularly for the management, manipulation and visualization of data, or expert programming skills with other data science software like Python or Matlab and a willingness to learn R;
• Experience estimating or predicting health indicators through the synthesis of multiple input data sources or experience analyzing geospatial data highly desirable;
• Experience with other quantitative disciplines, e.g., economic evaluation, opinion polling, survey methods, etc, is an asset;
• Experience with immunisation programmes or data, or previously working in a Gavi supported country, is an asset;
• Capacity to manage multiple activities while providing quality and timely deliverables;
• Ability to collaborate with country programmes colleagues to design and carry out data analyses to answer key questions;
• Ability to work independently, adaptively, and to take initiative;
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and establish harmonious working relationships, both within and outside the organisation;
• Strong oral and written communication skills;
• Tact and discretion.
