The Information & Communication Technologies Department (heig-vd.ch/tic) and, specifically, the Reconfigurable & Embedded Digital Systems Institute (reds.heig-vd.ch) are looking for a talented embedded engineer.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES

We are looking for a candidate who is highly motivated and interested in working with embedded software in a fast-evolving research environment to support advanced research. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Lead and mentor a team of junior engineers
  • Adopt and spread use of best practices for software version control, development, and testing
  • Present technical and analytical results
  • Contribute to system architecture reviews and integration
  • Support project proposals writing
  • Implement, document, and unit-test software mainly on ARM /Intel platforms (C/C++) under Linux or real-time OSes

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Master degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication, or Electronics. Comparable working experience in the field can be judged equivalent. PhD in related domains a plus.

Considerable proven experience in embedded software development

Autonomy, creativity, structured work and good analytical competences

Excellent communication skills in French and English

Previous proven experience in leading a small team of developers
