The Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of Telix by driving operational excellence, strategic vision, and operational delivery. As a member of the Group Executive team, the COO contributes to strategy and decision making at the highest level of the company and has ultimate accountability for business processes and improvements, global manufacturing activities including commercial and development activity, supply chain and logistics, and oversight of partnerships and vendors such as CMO’s, and for global quality assurance and control.

The position is responsible for the management and effectiveness of Telix facilities including all global offices and manufacturing and development sites including Health & Safety. The COO participates actively in business development and expansion opportunities including in business case development, appropriate due diligence and contract negotiation, integration and management.

The COO sets the global standard for operations and drives implementation and effectiveness through collaboration with many areas of the business including the broader Global Leadership Team, global cross-functional teams, and regional operational teams. They lead optimizing organizational processes, enhancing productivity, ensuring quality standards, and promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities

Strategy and Planning:

  • Collaborate with the Group Executive Team to shape the company’s overall strategic direction and long-term growth objectives.
  • Develop and execute holistic, long-term operational plans to drive improvements and effectiveness that support execution of the company strategy.
  • Report and/or present to the Telix Global Leadership Team and Board of Management as required

Global Operations

  • Work collaboratively within complex matrix structures to establish effective operational processes and activities including close collaboration with regional CEO’s including regional Operations teams.
  • Adapt structures and processes as needed based on the impact of geopolitical and regulatory developments worldwide.
  • Foster a global mindset within the organization, promoting cultural understanding, diversity, and inclusivity, and leveraging the diverse talents and perspectives of a multicultural workforce.

Manufacturing:

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize manufacturing processes, increase production efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between departments within manufacturing including Commercial, Development, and Supply Chain, to drive innovation, and meet production targets and quality standards.
  • Implement best practices in lean manufacturing and other efficiency-focused methodologies.

Quality Assurance and Control:

  • Foster an organization wide quality culture among employees by overseeing training, guidance, and resources to enhance the company wide understanding of quality standards and processes.
  • Oversee the development of quality benchmarks and specifications for new products, ensuring they align with regulatory and industry standards, and embed practices that enables scalable, consistent product quality.
  • Oversee all Quality Control measures to inspect, test and analyze materials, components and finished products, enabling on time batch release of Telix products.

Facilities:

  • Oversee the running and safety of all global Telix facilities including corporate offices and development and commercial manufacturing operations.
  • Plan and execute facility expansion or renovation projects, including budgeting, vendor management, and compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Develop and implement energy-efficient and sustainable practices within the facilities.
  • Establish and enforce health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment for all employees.

Business Improvement:

  • Lead efforts to identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency gains across various departments.
  • Collaborate with department heads to redesign processes, eliminate bottlenecks, and streamline operations.
  • Manage the project management office and ensure resourcing is allocated effectively to matrix asset teams and other organizational initiatives as appropriate

Leadership:

    • Foster a high-performance culture within the directorate, promoting collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
    • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent, empowering team members to excel in their roles.
    • Participate in all Enterprise Risk Management activities according to Telix’s policies, including proactively identifying risks, and escalating as appropriate.
What You’ll Bring To The Role

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience (20+ years) in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries with particular experience in biologic products, including experience in senior leadership roles within manufacturing and operations with a focus on process optimization and quality management.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and foster a culture of continuous improvement within a complex, global organization
  • Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies including lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising effectively with internal teams, clients, and external partners.
  • Ability to travel
