Internship Meteorology (f/m)

What you will do
  • Perform data analysis with reanalysis data and numerical weather model data in order to improve extended-range forecasting capabilities of the meteorology desk of Axpo Solutions
  • Special focus : 1) Persistence of summer weather patterns 2) Developing an uncertainty tracking tool which shall help to identify different physical pathways in ensemble forecast models
  • Support the meteorology desk of Axpo Solutions with the daily forecasting tasks
What you bring & who you are
  • University degree (or close to graduating) in Atmospheric Sciences, Meteorology or a related field
  • Good understanding of atmospheric dynamics, knowledge of scientific literature about subseasonal to seasonal (S2S) predictability is a plus
  • Strong coding skills in either Python, R or Matlab
  • Experience in analyzing meteorological datasets, such as reanalysis data, satellite data or numerical weather prediction model data
