In this role you shall be a member of the global first line support of our IT team. You will be providing IT-Support and improving the systems and IT processes in Thalwil and throughout all u-blox sites. u-blox’s IT team operates in 11 countries worldwide. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing international company and develop your skills as an IT professional.

Your responsibilities:
  • First line support for end users
  • Coordinating and forwarding tickets to other teams
  • Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with users
  • Create and update system documentation
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems, and applications
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
  • Troubleshooting system and network problems, diagnosing, and solving hardware/software faults
  • Supporting the roll-out and changes of new and existing applications
  • Testing and evaluating new software and changes in existing software
  • Update system using current available technologies and antivirus
  • Manage purchasing of IT-related items
  • Provide IT training to the end user
Your skills and experience:
  • Technical support experience of Microsoft Desktop environments
  • Experience upgrading and fixing hardware issues on Desktops and Laptops
  • Good team player attitude and necessary inter-personnel skills to provide a good internal customer service
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Linux knowledge is a plus
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking
  • Hands-on Experience on hardware maintenance
  • Excellent German and English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience on multinational organizations would be a plus
