Responsibilities

The Media Relations Manager will be dedicated to build and drive the global reputation of the company through regular contact with journalists, accompanying interviews and background meetings with the most senior leadership team, supporting group-wide communication projects and key events, and delivering on the overall communications strategy.

The role reports into the company’s Global Head of Media Relations and contributes to a global, positive, coherent, and credible image to promote the company as the most advanced in its sector. As a company spokesperson, you will be handling issues and media requests on a regular basis and assess new risks when they arise. This job requires an experienced media relations practitioner with the ability to counsel senior executives in mission critical moments. The ideal candidate has seasoned spokesperson experience and demonstrated issues management for a well-established company/brand.
  • Promote the positive image of the group and its top executives across a broad range of media platforms from international to national media outlets and industry trade press as well as architecture and design outlets.
  • Support internal spokespeople with media interviews and background meetings – briefings, quote checks and follow ups.
  • Support, develop, challenge and execute narratives, media releases, key messages and Q&As for financial and non-financial communications
  • Manage media requests and coordinate requests internally with all relevant business stakeholders
  • Develop communications material for media trips, roundtables and events
  • Adopt a proactive and progressive approach to identifying and managing issues to ensure the Group takes and retains leadership positions on topics of strategic global importance for the business
  • Manage stakeholder relationships at a global level and support local markets with their engagements
  • Provide senior level counsel to management during times of crisis
Education/Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree required (Degree in Business, Communications, or Journalism)
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business journalism, PR/communications agency or corporate communications
  • Seasoned 2 years of experience in spokesperson function
  • Proven abilities to develop and manage global communications strategies, plans and activities
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong media relations skills and relationships, with experience engaging reporters on a regular basis on challenging issues.
  • Outstanding personal communicator with the professional stature and presence to represent the group
  • Strong communications competencies (writing, speaking, presenting, etc.)
  • Sound experience in negotiation, conflict resolution and crisis situations
  • Proven ability to think ahead, engage proactively and take initiative
  • Sound understanding of business financials
Language Requirements

Fluent in English as well as in German or French with strong written and verbal skills.
