ResponsibilitiesInnovative new technologies will be essential in answering current and future sustainability challenges. In your role as Technology Scouting Manager, you will contribute to the identification, evaluation and realization of such technologies within the Swiss innovation ecosystem and beyond.You will work in BASF Schweiz AG’s scouting and incubation team, located on Empa’s premises in Dübendorf. You will report directly to the head of the team, taking responsibility for the following tasks:
  • Searching, evaluating, further developing and implementing technologies with strong potential for BASF´s current and future sustainability needs.
  • Scouting with internal and external partners, with a focus on the academic and startup scene in Switzerland.
  • Launching and managing R&D projects or NBD activities out of scouting results, in close cooperation with relevant business units.
  • Supporting communication, promotion and outreach activities related to the new BASF innovation unit to be created in the NEST at Empa in Dübendorf, increasing both internal and external visibility.
  • Supporting the creation and promotion of the technology and innovation community within BASF in Switzerland by creating and managing an innovation platform and organizing related events.
  • Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders for specific innovation projects.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master or PhD degree in a scientific field (Chemistry, Process Engineering, Physical Chemistry) with demonstrated broad scientific and business interest.
  • Additional qualifications in business management and/or sustainability will be considered as an asset.
  • You are distinctive for a high degree of personal responsibility and good self-organization skills.
  • You demonstrate excellent communication and networking skills.
  • You stand out for your ability to think strategically and analytically.
  • High proficiency in German and English is a mandatory requirement.
  • The contractual agreement consists of a two-year postgraduate contract with the possibility of renewal for a long term position.
