About the job

The UX team plays an integral part in gathering insights about the attitudes, emotions, needs, and behaviors of people who use our products to inspire and inform designs. In this role, you will investigate user behavior and user needs using empirical research methods, such as logs analysis, survey research, path modeling, and regression analysis.

Google’s Consumer UX team is responsible for the user experience in Google Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping and more — products and experiences used and seen by many people.

In this role, you will set the foundation for a research team within the Consumer UX Insights and Innovation group tasked with establishing insights and principles around user decision-making.

User experience is at the forefront of how we create intuitive, innovative, and beautiful products that people love. We strive to learn and understand our users’ needs, behaviors, and emotions to gather insights that inform product strategy and design. Our UX teams include designers, researchers, content strategists, and engineers who are passionate about quality, usability, and simplicity. We work on collaborative teams to solve complex challenges and craft experiences that highlight our products’ unique capabilities and personalities. Our work touches billions while exemplifying a key principle that is core to Google’s philosophy: “Focus on the user and all else will follow.”

  • Plan, oversee, and execute research with internal and external partners
  • Develop code and statistical models to analyze data sets and understand user behavior
  • Build relationships with Product Management, Policy, Legal, and Economics teams, and establish a community of UX, Product Management, and Engineering partners for intake and dissemination
