Join us as a Release & Environment Manager

What you’ll do

Together with the other team members you will look after all processes and tasks related to Avaloq release planning and deployment activities, provide support across development tooling and maintain our dev/test environments. You will understand and manage successful implementation of change and drive fast response to environment related needs. Additionally to the regular release integration, you will contribute towards improvements in our set up. Our ideal candidate has several years of technical and/or business related experience in the Avaloq world that enables her/him to deliver high quality services.

Our team includes several Avaloq sub-teams: Release Management and Engineering, Batch Engineering, and Performance and Data Growth, providing the right person with multiple learning opportunities across the Technical Application Management department. The function collaborates closely with Application Management, Operations, 3rd-party developers, Infrastructure, Release Management for Satellite Systems and IT Test Management.

You’ll also be responsible for:

  • Execution of all Avaloq release and environment management services across the technical stack (ACP, AFP, ACPR), e.g. integration of changes and deployment into test environments, verification installations and troubleshooting

  • Close collaboration with Test Management and Release Delivery Services to ensure high quality releases

  • Planning and execution of deployment activities including active participation in cutover management for production

  • Support of release management and development related tool set, e.g. rolling out new ICE versions, administration and optimization of ADAI inclusive of the integration robot

  • Set up and monitoring of ACP and AFP environments, regular execution of environment health and sanity checks, troubleshooting and resolution of issues

  • Continuous identification of improvements in processes and quality of services

  • Delivery of consulting services and support to other departments for technology and deployment (e.g. point of contact for software developers)

  • Gatekeeping and innovation for Avaloq environments (assisting with code reviews, code audit, building into code assistant for ICE, ASMD reviews, development factory, system performance monitoring, load assistance, server resource management, ADAI stack: where it is a match to your skillset or a direction you wish to develop yourself in)

  • Leading Avaloq upgrades, assistance with Oracle / Firmware upgrades on dev/test

  • Contact person for Avaloq Release Management: release planning, downloads, issue raising and resolution

The skills you’ll need

To succeed in this role, you will preferably have a track record in release management, and be able to control and manage lifecycle of tasks and software changes. Ideally, you will have a thorough understanding of Avaloq core platform and its related technical concepts (Oracle database, Avaloq object model, BGPs, doc_logger, CPU and memory usage etc.). You should also have proven knowledge of test management and environment management processes. We additionally expect you to have related professional training or IT experience record, or a degree in computer science/engineering (or equivalent).

You will also:

  • have good social grace in contact with various stakeholders, and ability to convey technical concepts to junior colleagues

  • have the ability to appropriately prioritize and plan complex work in a changing environment where situation can change throughout the day

  • have strong attention to detail and good understanding of implications of your decisions

  • be a very strong team player with a positive attitude who is not afraid to both support others and ask for help; the team is built on mutual support, openness in providing feedback and opinions, and playing individual strengths to our overall advantage

  • be able to work under pressure and take initiative

  • be an analytical and structured, solution and service oriented person who takes ownership of their tasks

  • be fluent in English, both spoken and written, with German being a large bonus
