The Institute for Applied Sustainability in the Built Environment (ISAAC) promotes the energy transition towards a zero-emission society based on an inter- and trans-disciplinary approach in the areas of characterisation and reliability of photovoltaics and their integration in buildings, intelligent management of renewable energy in the grid, energy efficiency of buildings and their maintenance. The complex energy transition also includes the proposal of more sustainable choices and lifestyles, involving, policy makers, stakeholders from the local area and civil society.
The responsible of the Building System Division will have the opportunity to lead three established teams (15 employees) locally and internationally in the fields of research on building management and renovation, the integration of renewable energies in buildings with a focus on BIPV, and the circular economy in construction.
