Your team

Pictet Trading & Sales (PTS)provides direct access to global markets, offering bespoke trading solutions across a wide range of asset classes. Our sales traders, IT specialists, strategists and quant analysts are supported by a full suite of risk and control functions as well as the latest technology capabilities.

To build on this success PTS is expanding its team in Geneva and seeking to hire a Senior Application Specialist in the specific area of Agency Trading Securities. PTS is leading an initiative to further increase the straight through processing rate on listed products, including order capture, order execution, booking and legal reporting. This involves working with third-party products from vendors (ITIVITI, Fidessa, Teleinvest, Bloomberg) and internal customizations which are Java based. You will join a team of 14 professionals (Product Owners, Support Officers, Developers) and report to the Agency Trading Securities Product Owner (we use the Scrum methodology).

Your role

  • Gaining a thorough grasp of the activities conducted on the trading floor.
  • Acquiring an in-depth understanding of our trading infrastructure.
  • Proactively designing and developing potential changes to the platform to better support the way of doing business by ascertaining business needs, leading workshops, developing business test cases and working closely with the business.

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, etc.
  • 10 years’ experience in a similar role on a trading floor or knowledge of trading systems acquired while working at a trading software vendor.
  • Skilled user of Java.
  • Strong analytical skills and solutions-oriented.
  • A well-developed client-oriented attitude together with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to perform in a challenging, high-pressure and dynamic environment.
  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Must be resident in Switzerland or willing to relocate.

As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of electronic execution/trading of listed products (Equities, Bonds & ETDs) coupled with a proficient command of Java. With your keen entrepreneurial mindset, you will help to develop the trading floor’s listed product business. You will be working in an exciting environment in close cooperation with divisions and corporate functions across the bank and with both internal and external suppliers.
