Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: C, C++, Java, Python.
  • Experience in managing Software Engineering teams.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical subject.
  • Experience with data structures, algorithms and software design.
  • Experience as a people manager and proven ability to build strong team cultures based on mutual respect, empathy, learning, and support for each other.
  • Extensive experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems.
  • Understanding of Google’s product development practices and common infrastructure systems.

Whether understanding and solving online content concerns, navigating within global legal frameworks, or writing and enforcing worldwide policies, the team is on the frontlines of protecting users, building internet safety for online shoppers and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of software engineers, including task planning and code reviews.
  • Drive technical projects; provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
  • Be responsible for the overall planning, actioning, and success of technical projects.
  • Work closely with Product Management, UX, and wider Engineering teams to ensure effective development.
  • Contribute technically to projects; focus on design and architectural decision making for the team.
