We are seeking for immediate hire or by arrangement, for our Global Research and Development Center based in Sierre, a Surface Treatment Technologist

Responsabilités et qualifications:

Core responsibilities:

  • Technical referent for surface treatments (application, characterization, and analysis of pre-treated surfaces
  • Responsible for the implementation of new surface treatments and adaptation of new methods specific to customer requirements
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the installations and definition of safety standards in collaboration with the EHS team
  • Management of technical projects, analysis of results and preparation of test reports
  • Technical training of interns on methods
Your profile:
  • Training in surface treatment (AFP), electroplating, CFC Galvanoplasty or HES engineer in chemistry
  • Professional experience in surface treatment and/or electrochemistry is an advantage
  • Very good computer skills
  • The activity requires dynamism, initiative, analysis, and a teamworking approach
  • Fluency in French or German and English is required

Novelis’ Sierre is located in the Valais of Switzerland employing around 500 people. It mainly focuses on production of aluminium sheet for the automotive market covering the entire process from casting to finishing. The plant also hosts a world-leading Research & Innovation Center specialized in development of new automotive sheet alloys surface treatment and joining technologies. Sierre is nicknamed the “City of the Sun” with an average of 300 days of sunshine in proximity to skiing resorts and famous for its cheese and wine. The Sierre plant supports its community through direct sponsorship of many annual events promoting education sports and culture. In addition it supports student project at technical and high schools.
