Job Description


The Racing Manageris responsible for all Alpine Junior Racing of the Brand Salomon versus Third Parties in a national Context. This includes building and management of a growing and successful Salomon Racing Community from Nationales Leistungszentrum (NLZ) up to Europacup. Thereunder we count Acquisition, Support and Main Contact/Service of all Salomon Athletes on a national level in product specific and organizational areas, Management at Races and Tests. As well as responsibility for the Salomon Wintersports Sample Process & Testski Fleet.

You will work in close collaboration with our Market Manager, Strategic Account Manager, Marketing Manager, Customer Service, and Merchandising teams.

You will report directly to the Marketing Manager.


Main Activities:

  • You will represent the brand at important national races and events including participation at relevant events (JO/FIS races, material tests, athlete days, Swiss championships, camps).
  • Athlete-Management & support up to NLZ level during the whole year (first contact person for athletes Switzerland)
  • Scouting and Acquisition of new (Youth) Talents for the Salomon Racing Team/ Planning and Execution of Ski tests for acquisition purposes.
  • Planning/Coordination/Reporting on the Salomon Racing Team throughout the year; Ambitious goal setting with athletes. Including internal reporting & exchange with the Salomon Racing Circle in Switzerland.
  • Responsible for material orders, offers and services/ski tests towards the athletes.
  • Ski and boot service for all Salomon athletes up to NLZ level
  • Dealer Support (S-Race Centers) at grassroots and test events/technical contact on the part of S/Race dealers in support of the Salomon WSE sales team.

Samples

  • Winter Sports Equipment Sample Orders, Inventory, Sell, Control in coordination with the Market Manager.
  • Sample transport (pick up in showroom in Aigle/from key accounts)
  • Sample Sales (preparation of product inventory and sale)/ after-sale of samples

Events/Ski tests

  • Support to retailer & consumer events: transport, in-store/on-site
  • Swiss Skitest Organization (SSO) / Intro: Ordering/ assembling, depositing barcodes/preparing skis (store), organizing transport, coordination with other brands
  • Glacier Tests SSO Preparation (Zermatt & Davos) including admin (Skis & Barcode)
  • Ski-Workshop Hagendorn/ Bösch
  • Responsible for the grinding machine
  • Total overview & inventory warehouse Bösch/ Fetching samples and test ski in the warehouse

Other

  • Lead the internal Racing Circle Meeting including numerical presentation of the status of the Salomon Grassroot squad.
  • Exchange with Salomon HQ Racing on product specific level for quality assurance and further development of our racing products and the "one voice" of Salomon Racing.
  • Together with the Influencer Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for creating and publishing relevant content for the SAL Racing community (pictures, videos, social media activation). Activity on various social media channels incl. advice on presence, activity and content in social media for Salomon athletes / coaches.

Qualifications

  • Required Work Experience:
    Proven Experience with the Swiss Racing/Ski Milieu with Junior Athletes. 3-4 years of experience as a Racing Manager or similar position.

  • Foreign Language(s): Local language fluency (German), French + English are a plus

  • IT Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint)

  • Specific Skills:

    • Solid capabilities in both ski and boot preparation
    • Willingness to travel and spend most weekends at ski races
    • Hands on mentality
  • Transversal Competencies:
