The team, we develop the application and control software for electrical drives for medium voltage Wind turbines in the power range up to 20 MW. The features are implemented on three different levels. The upper-layer control is programmed with an IEC61131 based program, the main control layer is pro-grammed in with C++ and the very fast control and protection functionalities are implemented on the FPGA.

You will work within a team responsible for the full range of activities associated with the development of control software in medium voltage converters.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to all FPGA activities for our product PCS6000 Wind: Requirements engineering, design, implementation, testing and maintenance
  • Being responsible for FPGA architecture, VHDL code development and documentation
  • Handle FPGA configuration management and build processes
  • Maintain existing FPGA and test infrastructure
  • Create test benches and automate tests where feasible
  • Understand the framework in which the FPGA is used, adapt, and modify it
  • Contribute to testing to ensure defined quality standards are met
  • Provide professional technical support for internal customers (Level 4, Commissioning)
  • Plan and refine work packages with colleagues
  • Solid degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or electronics
  • Proficient know-how for FPGA and VHDL and its associated tools
  • Experience in FPGA development for embedded applications
  • Solid experience with git or an equivalent source control system
  • Minimum three years of relevant industry experience
  • Basic understanding about power electronic applications would be advantageous
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills together with drive, commitment, and team spirit
  • Strong analysis and complex problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in English
