Research Assistant for the project "Development of Adolescents’ Metacognitive Control Skills"

At the Department of Psychology, a novel project investigating the development of adolescents’ metacognition (led by Prof. Dr. Mariette van Loon) has recently started. We are looking for a student research assistant to support us with this project.

Your responsibilities

As a student research assistant, you:

• support with designing and programming the research tasks to measure metacognitive monitoring and control
• support with (coordination of) data collection. You will be a contact person for the research participants (school teachers, adolescent participants and their caretakers). You will visit the participating schools to collect data
• will assist the research team with preparing and coding the data
• support the team with preparing research articles and presentations (for instance making reference lists and figures)
• support the team with organizing events

Your profile

• You study psychology, educational sciences, or computer science and are currently doing your Master’s
• You have a strong interest in research in the field of developmental psychology
• You have excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
• You have advanced English and German skills
• You have good data management and statistical skills (e.g., with use of R and excel) and basic computer programming skills (e.g. JavaScript)
