Research fellow in Cardiometabolic Health

(80 to 100%)

The Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine (ISPM) at the University of Bern performs research in a range of disciplines relevant to public health (www.ispm.unibe.ch). Groups cut across divisions, facilitating an interdisciplinary approach to research in the fields of clinical epidemiology, social and behavioral health, biostatistics, and international and environmental health.

Main Tasks
  • Contribute to a systematic review and meta-analysis evaluating the impact of diabetes on cardiovascular disease
  • Participate in abstract screening, data extraction, data analysis
  • Contribute to manuscript preparation and publication in a peer-reviewed journal
Requirements
  • Master of Science and/or PhD in the field of epidemiology, cardiometabolic health, medicine or related area
  • Experience with research work in the field of epidemiology, cardiometabolic health, statistics, or public health in a medical setting
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent level of English in writing and orally
  • Strong communication skills
  • Statistical programming skills, ideally with experience in SPSS, STATA or R would be an asset
  • Highly-motivated, goal- and team-oriented
