For our customer in Schlieren, we are offering an outstanding opportunity for a research project manager to work with multidisciplinary teams of scientists dedicated to run novel drug discovery projects, and to jointly shape the future portfolio as a member of a broad network of project enablers.

Research Project Manager for Oncology Discovery (temporary)

In this exciting position you will The Research Project Manager (RPM) takes accountability for all project management aspects of a discovery project and works effectively and closely with the research project leader. He/she ensures that project progress, risks, issues and news are accurately reported and communicated to the relevant bodies in a timely manner to enable informed decision-making.

Your tasks

  • Enabling a vision & strategy for Discovery projects in partnership with the research project leader and the project team. Consolidating high-level project information obtained from project teams into project plans
  • Feeding essential info into portfolio management, creating alignment & transparency and thus enriching decision making by the leadership
  • Guiding teams through the ever-changing landscape of governance & stakeholder management
  • Supporting the annual goal-setting process for Discovery projects and regular tracking of progress against these goals
  • Assisting and guiding individual project teams at their interface with governance bodies and supporting functions in dealing with complex issues that impact the Discovery Portfolio
  • Working with the Project teams to identify, validate and propose potential solutions to major issues, resource bottlenecks, project plan deviations, and develop trade-off options for rapid project progression or early project termination

Your Qualification:

  • University Degree in natural sciences, PhDs desired or other with several years of relevant experience
  • Min. 2 years experience in Project Management in the drug development space for cancer research and development
  • Good understanding of the scientific language and behaviors, ideally in Oncology
  • Experience in working in a matrix environment
  • Strong Stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledgeable in supporting or leading cross-functional drug discovery or development project teams
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English
  • Proficient in preparing and running effective meetings & workshops
  • Working well within teams and effective in collaborating with others internally and externally
  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive working style with ability to structure and drive implementation
  • Conceptual and analytical thinking and experience in working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Able to translate strategy into action

Please not that this is a temporary position until February/Mid of March 2024. Starting date: 1.05.2023.
