This challenging and diverse position will include the following tasks and responsibilities:

• Supervision of the team performing ribosome display and phage display selections, as well as of the DARPin screening and formatting experts.
• Maintaining the DARPin leadership by integration of learnings for DARPin improvements into the design of the next generation DARPin libraries with superior properties.
• Supporting and guiding project teams with selection strategies, tailored to the needs of the targets and indications.
• Bring the screening technologies to the next level, by implementation of new technologies (automation, digital tools, etc.).
• Lead DARPin platform initiatives within/adjacent to our pipeline projects to evolve the DARPin scaffold to “teach DARPins new tricks.”

For this position, we are looking for an enthusiastic and highly skilled individual who features the following credentials:

• An agile and dedicated “driver” and team-player who is eager to help bring our DARPin generation platform to the next level.
• Scientist with a PhD in Biochemistry, structural biology, or related field with 10+ years in a biotech/pharma environment.
• Proven leadership skills, with successful supervision of a diverse group of lab technicians and scientists.
• Deep experience in the selection, screening, and characterization of antibody-based, peptide-based and/or alternative scaffold binders.
• Candidate must bring very strong experience in selection technologies, ideally in more than one, but necessarily in at least one of the areas of ribosome display, phage display or yeast display.
• Candidate must bring strong experience in screening technologies for characterization of protein binding molecules.
• Strong in identifying improvements in our lead generation process pipeline and able to quickly propose and execute remedies.
• Experience in the integration of digital tools (AI/machine learning) as well as in lab automation in the selection and screening process is considered a plus.
