Job Summary

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for coordinating with Semtech Global Finance teams and executing month-end, quarter-end, year-end closing activities to ensure the timely and accurate closure of accounts, and management of payroll for our French entities.

Responsibilities
  • Performing analytical reviews of profit and loss accounts and balance sheets, ensuring financial accuracy.
  • Reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, addressing open items, and rectifying anomalies.
  • Ensuring the submission of other reporting packages accurately and within specified timelines.
  • Reviewing and providing approval for all manual journal entries posted by the shared service team.
  • Managing cash flow, forecasting current and future cash flow requirements, and arranging necessary fund transfers if required.
  • Preparation of monthly payroll activities for French entities.
  • Preparing statutory tax calculations and reconciliation, including tax reporting and liaising with Tax Consultants.
  • Preparing audit-related schedules and documentation, collaborating with auditors.
  • Participating in compliance audits and responding to audit queries.
  • Identifying, recommending, and implementing solutions for continuous improvement opportunities in operational areas.

Minimum Qualifications
  • University education, preferably in Finance/Accounting or a related discipline; ACCA or other accounting professional qualifications.
  • Minimum of 5 years in an accountant role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial reporting, audit, taxation and payroll.
  • Proficiency in relevant accounting software such as SAP and MS Office tools.
  • Meticulous, independent, proactive mindset with the ability to execute tasks within tight deadlines.
  • Comfort working in a dynamic, changing, and growing environment.
  • Proficiency in both English and French.
