SmallPdf is looking for a hands-on Senior Content Manager that will be responsible for creating, refining and executing our content strategy in line with our business goals and brand.

About SmallPdf

The last thing anyone living abroad needs is to figure out how to receive their post from home, right? That’s why our founders were inspired in 2013 to create an online tool that could turn huge PDFs into small, easy-to-send versions. And it turns out, they weren’t the only ones with this problem. In 2022, we took a big step forward by joining forces with PDF Tools (daughter company), founded in 2002. They specialise in developing a range of products for creating, manipulating, and validating PDF and PDF/A files to support the entire document workflow. About the role

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the company’s content strategy, guiding a team of freelancers (copywriters) and ensuring that all content aligns with the company’s brand voice and SEO objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, refine and implement content strategies across the entire customer journey in line with Smallpdf’s business objectives and brand voice.

  • Translate the content strategy into an actionable plan and ensure its delivery.

  • Connect the dots between our commercial strategy, performance goals, customer insights, product and content marketing

  • Write, edit and optimize content (in English) with focus on SEO and conversions, focusing on corporate blogs, newsletters and general content for websites.

  • Act as our in-house editor-in-chief for all content related topics / marketing channels.

  • Work closely together with a team of freelancers (copywriters), ensuring that all content is high-quality, engaging, and optimized for search engines.

  • Analyze and report on the performance of all content including traffic, engagement, and conversion metrics.

  • Collaborate with external agencies and internal stakeholders to ensure that all content is aligned with the company’s messaging and brand guidelines.

  • Identify opportunities to grow new channels and creative formats based on current industry trends and best practices in content marketing and SEO.

Requirements

Must have

  • Min. 5 years of hands-on experience in content marketing or a related field, showing a proven record of driving content marketing activities that accelerate growth.

  • A great understanding of the role that content can play at different stages of the customer journey

  • A strong knowledge of SEO content writing and optimization.

  • Native-level English proficiency (written & verbal).

  • Experience managing a corporate blog or website.

  • Experience working with and setting up collaboration with (external) copywriters, freelancers and agencies.

  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate complicated content concepts to key stakeholders.

  • Anticipate and mitigate challenges with delivery timelines, and oversee prioritization of tasks.

  • Passionate about the world of SEO with a keen interest in becoming an industry leading expert.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a can-do attitude and a solution-focused approach.

  • Knowledge of ‘quick win’ vs long-term return content tactics.

  • An excellent eye for quality and detail.


Nice to have

  • An educational background in journalism, communication, literature or any other related field.

  • Knowledge of an additional language is a plus (German, French, Spanish).

  • Experience in SaaS industry

  • Experience with tools like SEMRush, Search Console and Google Analytics
