Read more: careers.bms.com/working-with-us.This role ensures an integrated communications strategy, largely external with some internal, across all Corporate Affairs teams and internal stakeholders, including Leadership Team members and their direct reports. This role requires strategic thinking, vision, as well as skillful collaboration across all stakeholders within the BMS. This role will be responsible for coordination of executive thought leadership strategy/plan, including all pull-through opportunities with social media, media and internal engagement.The role will report to the Vice President of Global R&D Communications and support the General Manager of Boudry, Switzerland and a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The position will be located in Boudry.Managerial Responsibilities
  • Partner with Regional Heads to develop and implement global & local strategic plan to elevate Boudry as an EU site of scientific excellence
  • Support LT members plus SVP, Global Medical to extend reach of BMS’ science and innovation story
  • particularly in Europe
  • Develop the corporate affairs and comms org requirements to support the delivery of this strategy
  • Develop and implement the ways of working between local and global and strategically support the SLT
  • Develop budget and roadmap for delivery of strategy
  • Develop metrics to measure success and reputation (media, scientific community, government)
  • This role will be responsible for the local and science strategies and work closely with both international and corporate affairs functions including Global Business Continuity & Community Impact Communications team and their respective facilities
  • Sets strategy for culture & engagement of Boudry site colleagues
  • Responsible for local town hall events
  • Partners with Senior Director and local leadership to create and execute an integrated comms strategy and plan for the site to attract the very best talent to the site
  • Responsible for local messaging in coordination with local leadership strategy, including adigital strategy for pull through communications
  • Manage annual budget and agency resources.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of professional experience in corporate affairs, with a focus on R&D Comms. A successful candidate will have:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field.
  • EU science communications within healthcare or agency experience is a plus
  • Past experience of working in a pharmaceutical or scientific industry.
  • Proven track record building strategies that drive communications strategies in coordination with business partners.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively within the department and the business.
  • Strong understanding of how to engage internal and external stakeholders with customer/patient-focused mindset.
  • Superior written and interpersonal communications skills and ability use scientific expertise to craft corporate messages and strategies.
  • Proven strategic planning and project management capabilities.
  • Strong business acumen skills, ability to think strategically, in a creative and innovative manner.
  • Proven experience working in a matrixed environment and operating within a complex, fast-paced and changing environment.
