About The Opportunity

Your focus will be on Diabetes Domain corporate and brand-related strategic communications, employee engagement / culture change communication, and media relations.

In this newly created role, you will work independently as well as very closely with the CEO on key initiatives. You will have the opportunity to shape and develop the communications strategy for the company and follow through with implementation. This is a key leadership role that requires a high level of independence and strong cross-functional collaboration.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Design, develop and execute integrated short- and long-term communication strategies and messaging to help achieve the company’s goals of industry leadership, operational and service excellence, and differentiation.
  • Develop strategy for global media engagement and corporate reputation.
  • Manage external newsflow calendar, develop press releases (product and corporate) and supporting media content, including country toolkits.
  • Manage media relationships (building and maintaining relationships with journalists, responding to media inquiries and interview requests).
  • Preparing spokespeople for media interviews (talking points and arranging training).
  • Engage country teams to support on upcoming PR activities.
  • Managing thought leadership program and feature opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategies for global internal communications and employee engagement across a variety of business scenarios including business growth, restructuring, and other change management initiatives. This includes but is not limited to Global Get Togethers, Manager Update Calls, the global intranet, newsflow tools, videos, live and online meetings/webcasts.
  • Responsible for KPIs in Comms Bowler, Problem Solving such as A3 development and maintenance, including driving Action Plans as needed.
  • Lead all communications activities around yearly PHC Group Employee Engagement Survey including support of Senior Management to develop Ascensia-wide Action Plan to continuously build a responsive and feedback oriented culture.
  • Assess culture - partner with DDMT to identify and prioritize key cultural shifts that will enable a more effective organization. Drive the cultural strategy and respective initiatives within Ascensia and oversee the organization of the Culture Ambassadors.
  • Develop appropriate, consistent, and high quality communications to inform and educate employees in 30+ countries about business goals, objectives and results, issues and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage and oversee internal communications channels including global intranet, Yammer, DMD Global Get Togethers and monthly DMD Update (Manager) Calls.
  • Manage communications support for all strategic initiatives of the company’s foundation. E.g. rollout of BOS and LEAN principles.
  • Provide communications counsel, guidance and expertise to DDMT and their respective teams.
  • Design, develop and execute integrated communication strategies that engage with customers, consumers and other external audiences, to support the marketing efforts for key company products and brands.
  • Utilize existing communication channels and seek new and creative ways to inform and engage audiences.
  • You will lead a small Communications team in using a variety of channels to communicate information within and beyond the company through mediums such as digital, print, live meetings, employee events, videos, webcasts and social media.
What You Need For Success
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (Journalism, English, Communications).
  • 10+ years of professional corporate communications experience required with specific and measurable experience in internal communications and employee engagement.
  • Previous experience from Life Science industry will be considered as a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated success in developing, managing and delivering communication strategies and plans in a large, complex, global organization (experience of working in global communications team preferred).
  • Demonstrated mastery of crafting and communicating a compelling message, with the ability to command the respect of, and influence, a wide variety of audiences.
  • Ability to write for global audiences with sensitivity to cultural norms.
  • Demonstrated success of managing change in an organization and supporting employee engagement.
  • Experience managing third party vendors.
