Pictet Trading & Sales (PTS) provides direct access to global markets, offering bespoke trading solutions across a wide range of asset classes. Our sales traders, IT specialists, strategists and quant analysts are assisted by a full suite of risk and control functions as well as the latest technology.

PTS is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Senior Trading Engineer as part of the PTS Trading Technology – Principal Trading team located directly next to the principal trading desks on the trading floor. Our team turns high business ambitions with innovative ideas into high-performing and resilient technology. We work closely with traders and quantitative researchers to define priorities and develop custom solutions in our principal trading and risk management system Front Arena.

Your role
  • Designing, developing, testing and deploying software solutions.
  • Programming in Python and ADFL in a DevOps model.
  • Being the product owner for the Front Arena trading system.
  • Gathering requirements and defining their scope in close collaboration with principal trading, covering both quantitative and technical aspects.
  • Investigating and debugging implementation issues.
  • Cooperating with the vendor to enhance and develop the product.
  • Training and mentoring other resources, both internally within the team and stakeholder groups.

Your profile
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills (minimum M.Sc. level in mathematics, physics, engineering, etc.).
  • A 5+ year track record of successful project management and project delivery in a trading system environment.
  • Prior experience in the Front Arena trading system will be a major advantage.
  • Strong programming experience in Python and curiosity for new technologies and systems.
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets industry, including trading, position and risk management.
  • Ability to perform in a high-pressure environment.
  • First-class interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for continual learning to keep pace with the changing financial markets.
  • The successful candidate must be resident in Switzerland or willing to relocate.
