As part of the Johnson Outdoors Family, we create amazing outdoor experiences.The continued development of premium high-tech diving instruments is our strength and therefore we are looking for aEmbedded Software EngineerBased at our Research & Development Center in Spreitenbach (AG) Switzerland , you will participate in new product development with a focus on Dive computers.As a member of the product development team, you will contribute to the continual stream of innovative new ideas to design the next generation of products.As part of the software development team you will be responsible for the programming of the microcontroller, graphical display and user interface.Your key tasks will include:
  • Programming Embedded C in real time OS
  • Design software system architecture and user-interfaces, process graphics, and develop software and hardware
  • Program drivers and interfaces (USB, I2C, Bluetooth)
  • Perform technical analysis, design, coding, testing, development, debugging and modification of software systems
  • Define functional and technical requirements to facilitate design, development, testing, implementation and documentation
  • Define system or application requirements in collaboration with a variety of internal teams
  • Prepare technical documentation and provide written proposals and recommendations
  • Develop Software from concept to production to post-launch software updates
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications
  • 5 years successful experience in hi-tech electronic product environment
  • Bachelor/Master degree in Software Engineering
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and German
  • Strong competencies and knowledge in programming development
  • Demonstrated experience in software and architecture design
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
  • Excellent accuracy
  • Pro-active and open-minded outlook
  • Experience with embedded software development, C programming, low power circuit use and optimization and/or microcontroller peripherals as a plus
  • Scuba Diving certification is a strong plus.
