Edwards Lifesciences is looking for a EU Senior Director Strategy and Marketing. This role requires strategic leadership and management experience to lead a team of marketing professionals to drive therapy development in alignment with the strategic imperatives. Accountabilities include lead and guide new product launches excellence as well as other marketing programs to drive innovation. This role involves change management to plan and lead the digital marketing transformation and leverage multi-channel programs and campaigns in Europe.

Success requires developing and empowering the team, engaging their passions, as well resilience, high level of energy to shape the future and the ability to forge partnerships with diverse and numerous international and cross-functional teams globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate an inclusive environment, with a robust strategic talent development plan in alignment with functional growth strategies and responsibility for the desired culture of the department.
  • Plan and direct region strategic and marketing activities including prioritizing and selecting appropriate projects with overall responsibility for meeting business objectives. Set overall regional marketing strategy and provide input to Global Marketing Strategy.
  • Lead and guide excellence in product launches and in digitalization such as omnichannel platform and campaigns.
  • Direct activities with overall departmental responsibility of developing systems, planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, recommending and implementing changes to methods, through several direct reports that may include people managers and/or high-level individual contributors.
  • Mitigate/eliminate risk, direct and communicate highly complex strategies which includes negotiations with internal and external parties for multiple complex concurrent major products, campaigns, launches, programs, and initiatives.
  • Develop key relationships with global marketing leaders and business unit executive leaders including; Sales SVPs, Regional SVPs, Cross Functional SVPs.
  • Develop and deliver executive level communication.
  • Develop plans and deliver results in fast changing business and regulatory environments.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field is required , Master of Business Administration is preferred
  • People leadership experience with demonstrated ability provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including attracting, developing, and retaining talent and partnering with HR on all aspects of talent leadership
  • Solid track record of strategic marketing / therapy development experience and excellence in product launches
  • Excellent track record and understanding of all digital channels, development and execution of complex digital marketing strategies. Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in digital marketing and measurements
  • Excellent understanding of the full marketing mix
  • Expert understanding of related aspects of market share, pricing, ASPs, competitive dynamics
  • Expert knowledge of financial mechanism that relates to marketing including forecasting, expense budgeting and management, purchase order compliance and processing, and 3rd party vendor compliance management.
  • Expert in developing and integrating metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of marketing to the business and senior leadership
  • Expert understanding of marketing content approval processes and systems, regulatory guidelines and legal boundaries
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with multiple stakeholders in an international environment
  • Drive for results and advanced leaderships skills with ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • High result orientation combined with strong project management skills
  • Experience working in a regulated medical device industry preferred
  • Fluent English, other language are a plus, especially French and German

Additional Elements:

  • Reports to the Senior Vice President Critical Care Europe, based in Nyon, Switzerland.
  • Position is located in the regional Headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
  • Must be willing to travel about 50% in Europe and USA (CA - Irvine).
  • Must be self-motivated and goal-oriented.
  • Must be willing to work at fast pace with high level of engagement.
